Lightning and other thinsg that never happen twice

Objektiv Obscura (a promethean firebox), 2007

An inverted candle is alit by a projected flame, replacing the bulb in a slide projector, replacing the slide too. The lens is a fulcrum. Light can have weight, projections can transcend pixels and grain, can be more real than analog. Thank you Prometheus, for bringing the fire to us.

Nothing Ever Happens Twice A,
Polaroid Dyptich, 2007

In their duality, these Polaroids propose something impossible: a repeated moment. Polaroid Imaging takes time and must therefore occupy it. These images offer an alternative, undermining the authority of Polaroid technology.

Nothing Ever Happens Twice B,
Polaroid Dyptich, 2007

In their duality, these Polaroids suggest something impossible: a repeated moment. In this version, it is the chemical error in the corner of the otherwise empty image that provide evidence of how organic the Polaroid Imaging system actually is.

Static Fields, Polaroid series, 2007

These Polaroids were illuminated by their own electrocution. They are cameraless images, which are immediate records of the bolts of electricity that passed through them. In each one-of-a-kind image, there is a quality of color and grainlessness not normally associated with Polaroids.
