Uncharmed, pure cine-silver, 2005

Cinesilver is silver salvaged from the fix bath in a motion picture film laboratory. The silver in this object, in its last incarnation, gave itself over to light to make a movie. A razor is a metaphor of thinness; casting a razor in a two part mold is a nearly absurd act. Here, the razor, cast in the cinema itself, asserts that its connotations: drug use, violence and, above all, the edit, are indebted to narratives of the cinema.
